Small Group Ministries
INSTRUCTIONAL/EDUCATIONAL:
Women's Group - Meets during specially planned events to bring women together for fellowship and support.
WWJR - What Would Jesus Read? Book club meets once a month for a potluck dinner and lively discussions of great books in member homes.
Friday Morning Bible Study - Come study the book of Romans with Pastor Vera at 9:15am on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.
Faith and Film - Group gathers monthly to watch a good film and discusses its themes relative to our contemporary culture and faith. For more information, contact Ruth Krauss.
Men's Group - Meets every other Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast and Bible study.
Confirmation - A program of instruction, fellowship and service for students in 6-8th grade. Students meet weekly with Pastor Vera and other adult leaders on Wednesdays from 6-7:20 p.m. For the latest on what the Confirmation kids are doing, please click here.
T.E.D - Our high school youth group gathers Wednesday nights to talk about faith and life and escape the pressures of the week. They also partake in: high school Sunday school, monthly fellowship and service opportunities, periodic weekend retreats, college discernment, youth gatherings, and a summer mission trip. RELATIONAL:
Bridge Group - Meets the 2nd Friday of each month from 9 am until noon in the fellowship hall.
Friends for Dinner - Dine in style with other ELC members during Friends for Dinner. ALL are welcome to sign-up. Once we have a complete list of participants, then 6-8 people will randomly be assigned to different dinner groups. This is a great chance to meet new people, grow closer in fellowship to others, try new recipes and simply have fun! Questions? Contact Lynn Nestingen at 303-941-4948.
Family Ministry - Various activities and events throughout the year to bring families together for fellowship and fun!
SUPPORTIVE:
Stephen Ministry - Stephen ministers are members of our congregation formally trained to be supportive listeners and carepartners. They routinely meet with care partners who have requested the friendship and support of a Stephen minister.
Caregivers Support Group - If you are experiencing some of the typical pitfalls which occur in most families when a beloved mother, father, spouse, etc., becomes ill, confused, dependent, hostile or depressed, this group can help you support them more effectively and provide you with greater understandind of the aging process. This group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the church house.
Prayer Sisters - Ongoing and intentional prayer support amongst ELC women.
Prayer Chain - Calls are made to prayer chain members in the event of emergency circumstances.
TASK/MINISTRY CENTERED:
Threads of Hope - A group for kids and adults to learn a new skill and make great use of it, knitting stocking caps for cancer patients.
Piecemakers - Gathers together on Tuesday mornings at 8:30 a.m (except the 4th Tuesday of each month) to make prayer quilts or other useful items for people in our church and community that are healing.
Peace and Justice - Meets periodically to identify peace and justice issues and encourages the congregation to take progressive action.
Chime Choir - Meets for rehearsal every Wednesday evening at 6:15 pm. The ministry complements the worship service with music dedicated to God's glory and purpose.
Choir - Meets for rehearsal every Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm.
REV-Up - Children's choir that meets every Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. for a quick dinner and then sing from 6:20 to 7:20 p.m. Please contact Lynn Nestingen for more information.
Library Committee - Meets to decide on and process new books and keep the library in good order.
Altar Guild - Prepares the altar and communion bread and wine.
